Course Description

The complexities of the head and neck region create a unique set of difficulties for pathologists, particularly if they are neuroendocrine specimens handled by general pathologists who do not see a high volume of these cases. The subtleties in the spectrum of their presentation in the context of differential diagnostic alternatives create a professional practice gap that can be closed by personalized, mentoring instruction with experts at multi-head microscopes. This course reinforces diagnostic cognitive strategies and underscores the pathologist as an integral player in the multidisciplinary team responsible for correct diagnosis and assignment to therapy. A concentrated, intense review of head and neck cases with experts at USCAP’s unique learning center in Palm Springs, California offers an unparalleled experience in a resort setting.

The United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Physicians can earn a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ by participating in the CME activities within the June 23-25, 2017 Interactive Microscopy Course.

The USCAP is approved by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) to offer Self-Assessment credits (SAMs) for the purpose of meeting the ABP requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Registrants must take and pass the post-test in order to claim SAMs credit.

Physicians can earn a maximum of 12 SAM credit hours.
