Clinical and imaging advances in the management of patients with liver disease have significantly altered the scope of disorders encountered by pathologists, shifting biopsy assessment of fibrosis stage among patients with chronic viral hepatitis or steatosis to unraveling complicated medical issues, hepatic effects of polypharmacy/targeted therapies or tumors of unclear etiology. The USCAP is approved by the American Board of Pathology (ABP) to offer Self-Assessment credits (SAMs) for the purpose of meeting the ABP requirements for Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Registrants must take and pass the post-test in order to claim SAMs credit.
