Physicians Can Earn A Maximum Of 12 SAM Credit Hours
Gynecologic pathology is evolving with rapid momentum, necessitating change. New classifications for endometrial pre-cancerous lesions were endorsed in 2014 by the World Health Organization; a proposed new classification system for endocervical adenocarcinoma is gaining traction; and the molecular classification of endometrial carcinomas is a current topic of discussion. This interactive microscopy course was organized by its faculty to familiarize practicing pathologists and pathologists-in-training with the new terminology, criteria, changes and molecular developments in uterine pathology as a stimulus to practice improvement and professional growth. Interactive microscopy simulates clinical sign out in an ambiance of intimate mentoring and is a highly desirable learning methodology.
• Recognize endometrial pre-cancers and utilize correct terminology as set forth in the 2014 WHO blue book • Apply the new pattern-based classification system to endocervical adenocarcinoma
• Describe diagnostic algorithms that may be helpful in cases of high grade endometrial adenocarcinoma
• Describe new molecular classification schemes and testing options for select uterine neoplasms
• Recognize and classify several uncommon epithelial and mesenchymal lesions of the uterus
